DURHAM, NC
This is a new concrete block building. This vivarium building is being used to monitor the Lemur’s hibernation patterns as they are the only primate that hibernates. In the facility are hibernation chambers set to resemble environmental conditions in Madagascar and a full veterinarian clinic. The veterinarian clinic includes an operating room, X-ray, ICU rooms, and procedure room. This facility also provides a quarantine area to be able to treat other Lemurs across the world. The building’s infrastructure includes a 100% outside air unit with an energy recovery unit and exhaust fans, backed up by a 550kw generator.
