Our Innovation Challenge was modeled after a “Shark Tank” competition. We invited employees to propose solutions for specific challenges to our Innovation Council of “Sharks”. The first place winner recommended a custom built app to be used on every job site to record safety forms and information. The second place winner proposed integrating the use of Airtable, a cloud based system to track and share data on projects from start to finish. These innovative ideas have resulted in actionable ideas that have improved culture, processes, and production.
By adopting Outbuild, a fresh approach to scheduling and planning projects, we’ve revolutionized construction scheduling. Outbuild is a collaborative, web-based platform. It integrates with Procore, on desktop or mobile and enables seamless planning and links submittals and RFIs directly to schedules in real time. This innovative approach improves our coordination and efficiency, and therefore is a value for our clients.
We’re taking jobsite safety to the next level with the launch of mySafe—our fully electronic, cloud-based onsite safety application. Developed in-house, mySAFe (McDonald York Safety Application for Field) is built by the field, for the field. Safety data is now shared in real time, keeping our teams informed and proactive. From Safety Orientations to Job Hazard Analysis, Daily Sign-Ins, Forms, and Permits—everything is submitted, reviewed, and stored digitally and accessible from any smartphone, tablet, or computer, making safety compliance easier than ever. With mySAFe, our Teams can collect, review, and act on critical safety data in real time—keeping our jobsites safer, smarter, and more efficient.
