Michael is a veteran of more than 23 years in the construction and computer industries. His construction experience started when he was in college when he worked as a construction laborer and equipment operator for his father who was President of the Texas Division of McCarthy Building Company. From 2010 to 2012, Michael was Vice President of Corporate Services for McDonald York Building Company where he was responsible for estimating, accounting, safety, human resources, information technology, insurance, bonding, and legal affairs. He has served on the Board of Directors of McDonald York for the last ten years.
Michael has twenty years of experience in the computer video game industry working for gaming companies such as Microprose, Electronic Arts, and Day 1 Studios. He is currently the Chief Technology Officer for Wargaming.net, a leader in free-to-play games with over 4,000 employees and operations worldwide. Wargaming purchased Day One Studios in 2013. Wargaming is an award-winning online game developer and publisher and one of the leaders in the free-to-play MMO market. Founded as a privately held company in 1998, Wargaming has shipped more than 15 titles. Currently, Wargaming is focused on its team-based MMO war series dedicated to the mid-20th century warfare that includes the armored World of Tanks, currently boasting 100 million players worldwide, the flight combat World of Warplanes, and the naval World of Warships.
Michael received a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Maryland and lives in Cary, NC with his wife Karen, and his three children, Sean, Brynn and Kaylin.
